This stunning location situated on the main road going into Somerset West boasts a Manuka Cafe & Wine Boutique. Owned and operated by Stephen & Alison Digby with General Manager Morne de Villiers. Stephen has extensive knowledge in the wine industry having completed several Cape Wine Academy Wine courses. His love and passion for wine is obvious when chatting to him in his wine shop. This is well stocked with highlights being a wide selection of wines from the local Helderberg and Stellenbosch Wine Routes, and a great selection of champagnes, both local and international.
Alison's flair with customers and food ensures that customers will have a great overall experience at Manuka @ Southeys. Amble through her recently re-vamped garden and delight in the flowers and the ducks and chickens as they waddle around.
Open 7 days a week, and evenings from Thursday to Saturday, this Manuka is available for private functions in the evenings. So for those special occasions, birthday parties, corporate functions, give them a call.
Meet the Wine Maker Dinners
These informal occasions take place every three to four weeks, with the emphasis on having fun! A selected Vineyard’s wines are featured and we taste up to eight products. The wine maker introduces him/herself and their estate, and then we get down to business. We then taste our way through all wines while nibbling on a selection of fresh cheeses. After each taster has been poured the wine maker shares his views on the specific vintage. The main course usually consists of a choice of a meat, fish or vegetarian dishes. Our fine wine shop stays open and wines can be purchased to enjoy with your meal (or to take home) at much less than the price you could expect to pay at other restaurants. Wines with dinner, desserts and coffees are extra.
